What it's all about

Do you love to pick up tiny treasures along the shoreline? Then you will love this watercolour still life workshop. Inspired by anything you find - coral, seaweed, shells, fragments of pottery, driftwood and sea glass - this workshop celebrates the textures, colors, and stories carried by the sea. All materials will be provided, but if you would like to collect your own seashore treasures and bring them along, please feel free to do that. With step-by-step instruction over 3 sessions, we will learn techniques for capturing the translucence of glass, the roughness of coral, and the delicate forms of seaweed using layered washes and fine brushwork. Emphasis will be placed on composition, colour harmony, and texture. Through observation and practice, we will develop a deeper appreciation for natural forms and the subtle variations found in coastal treasures. By the end of the workshop, you will complete a tranquil still life study in watercolour that evokes the calm and mystery of the shoreline. Beginners and intermediates all welcome!
