Abstract Watercolour Workshop

What it's all about

This fun workshop is all about experimenting with the expressive possibilities of watercolour through an abstract process and the art of negative space painting. Blending intuitive painting with thoughtful composition, we will focus on how to create balance, rhythm, and depth by painting both what is seen and what is in between. All materials will be provided. Together we will explore techniques such as creating pattern, layering, and using contrast to define shapes through absence rather than outline. We will celebrate freedom of expression while developing an understanding of how colour, texture, and space interact on the page. Learn to let go of literal representation and embrace spontaneity, allowing forms to emerge organically. By the end of the workshop, each painter will have created an abstract watercolour masterpiece that reflects a personal exploration of movement, emotion, and the beauty of negative space.
