Fish Hoek Library

I spent a lot of time conceptualising this mural inside the children's section of the library, because of its size, the slightly awkward shape of the wall, and having to create a design that would work with the yellow surrounding walls which would remain as they were. I wanted it to appeal to both boys and girls, to give them a feeling of surprise and adventure just waiting to be found inside the books they would choose. The final design feels whimsical and soft despite the yellow walls, and the subtle pops of gold paint bring the details to life.
